The Near Death Star is a space station serving as a retirement home for people past the age of 160, whom are usually placed in tombstone-like structures by the Sunset Squad Robots. According to Professor Farnsworth, taken there after he revealed that he was not actually 150, the old people are hooked up to a life support system, making them think they are in Florida (2ACV10).

An unspiky sphere resembling the Near Death Star is seen in an earlier episode, after Fry spills beer on the transmitter and the camera zooms into space. Right after the asteroid belt and before Jupiter, a white ball-like structure can be spotted with streaks. However, it is now clear this object is not the Near Death Star, as proven by the following images.
